Getting around in Odense
Most attractions in Odense is in the city center and very close to the conference venue at Odeon, so the best way to get around the city is by foot or bike.

Visa to Denmark

We recommend that you apply for your visa in ample time before the conference.
Invitation letter
In case you need a visa for Denmark, Play the Game can support your visa application by issuing an invitation letter.
The invitation letter will not be issued until registration and payment for the conference is done. Due to strict immigration procedures, Play the Game may ask for further documentation before we can issue an invitation letter.

Registration and information desk
The Play the Game conference information and registration desk is located inside the entrance of Odeon Congress center.
The desk will be open during the following hours:
Sunday 26 June: 11 AM – 6 PM
Monday 27 June: 9 AM - 11 AM & 1 PM - 10 PM
Tuesday 28 June: 8 AM - 8 PM
Wednesday 29 June: 8 AM - 5 PM
Thursday 30 June: 8 AM - 6 PM
Weather and clothing
Through late June you will typically experience 15-25°C during the day and 10-20°C at night on average. Dressing in layers is key and sunscreen is always recommended.
Currency and exchange
The currency in Denmark is Danish Krone (DKK). Currency converter (1 EUR = approx. DKK 7,5)
Banks and business hours
Banks are usually open until 4 or 5 pm. Cash machines are found almost everywhere in the city.
Business hours vary throughout Denmark. Opening times range from 8 am to 10 am and closing times from 3.30 to 5.30 pm.
Credit cards are widely accepted, in particular MasterCard and Visa.
Electricity
In Denmark the standard voltage is 230 V and the standard frequency is 50 Hz. Power plugs and sockets are of type E and K.
Language
In Denmark the official language is Danish, while the official conference language is English. Remember that for most participants – and most speakers – English is not their native language. Take your time and speak slowly and clearly.
