Conference examines social and economic impact of mega events

The conference is organised by the Copenhagen Business School and takes place on 1 September.
Speakers from Spain, Sweden, Germany, US, Italy and Copenhagen will look at experiences from preparing, hosting and bidding for the Olympic Games with examples from London 2012, the Stockholm 2004 bid and the 1992 Barcelona Games.
The conference will also provide participants with an overview of existing research on several aspects of economic and social effects of hosting a mega sport event such as
- cost cutting measures with regards to facility operations and infrastructures
- social, integrative and other effects
- city, company and country branding
- environmental and ethical effects
