When the International Olympic Committee demanded that foreign journalists be permitted to report freely during the course of the Beijing Olympics, a unique opportunity was created for journalists to gain access to what has been a restricted area for the foreign press for many years.

To assist journalists in sharing the stories of millions of Chinese that have not been heard by foreign ears, Play the Game for Open Journalism has prepared a package of measures to help ensure journalists are permitted to work under free and open conditions while portraying a accurate and full picture of the Chinese hosts.
