Programme Committee and delegate fees ready for Play the Game 2019

The preparations for Play the Game 2019 will take an important leap at the end of January when the new 20 strong Programme Committee and a handful of Play the Game employees will meet and discuss how to create the 11^th version of the conference programme with cutting edge sports political content.

The Programme Committee is a mix of competences in journalism, academia, sports leadership and activism, and – not surprisingly – with a strong North American component in this first Play the Game conference outside Europe.

The confirmed members of the Play the Game 2019 Programme Committee are:

In addition to these names, Play the Game will send four employees to the meeting in Colorado Springs, and the Danish NOC is yet to reveal the name of its member.

“The committee represents a good mix of experienced Play the Game participants and people who can add new angles to our thinking about how we best organise this festival for sports democracy,” says Jens Sejer Andersen, international director of Play the Game.

“The female representation is higher than previously, and we hope that this will eventually inspire a better female participation in the conference, something that we have struggled to achieve in recent years.”

Conference fee and hotel prices
After signing a contract with DoubleTree by Hilton as the conference venue, Play the Game is also ready to reveal the delegate costs.

The full conference package – including all meals and activities from Sunday 13 October at 14h to Wednesday 16 October at the evening party – will start at 650 USD for participants who register before 1^st July. Day packages will start from 185 USD.

DoubleTree by Hilton offers a single room for 158 USD per person per night including breakfast, and there are cheaper hotels within safe walking distance in the area.

Registration is expected to open in early February, at the same time as the Call for Papers is planned to go out.
