Richard W. Pound, IOC member and former WADA president, will not join EASM 2012 as a keynote speaker because of complications in the travel arrangements. He is replaced by Jens Sejer Andersen, international director of Play the Game.

Due to complications in the travel arrangements and agenda of Richard W. Pound, he and the conference organisers have agreed to cancel his engagement as a keynote speaker at EASM 2012. The decision has been taken in full mutual understanding.

”The cancellation is due to a number of trivial circumstances which made us realise that Mr. Pound’s participation was simply too much to ask for on this occasion,” says Jens Sejer Andersen, international director of Play the Game, who manages the keynote programme on behalf of EASM and University College of Northern Denmark.

As EASM has earlier encouraged Andersen to give a keynote address, he will now replace Mr. Pound, giving a presentation entitled ”The seven sins of omission in sport: Challenges to academic and journalistic research”.
