Subpoenas issued in Armstrong doping investigation

The doping investigation against Lance Armstrong and his associates is heating up as federal authorities have issued grand jury subpoenas to witnesses.
The federal investigation was started this year when Floyd Landis admitted to doping use and told investigators that the Postal Service team used its money to buy doping products and that he and the other riders on the team had engaged in doping after Armstrong and the team manager, Johan Bruyneel, had encouraged them to.
With the grand jury subpoenas, the investigation takes an important step forward. Landis is not thought to be among the witnesses at this point, but other riders, including several who are competing at the Tour, have already been contacted by investigators, writes the New York Times.
