FIFA admits to World Cup ticket errors

World football governing body FIFA will consider an overhaul of its World Cup ticketing structure after its online sales system proved to be overly complicated for large numbers of South African fans.

With just 2% of the tickets going to Africans outside of the host country, the cost of tickets could also be reconsidered with the high prices contributing to fewer sales.

Sales across Africa fell 76% below original predictions, with only 11,300 African visitors expected for the tournament that kicks off 11th June.
