46 match-fixing arrests in Turkey

By Play the GameThe arrests are a part of the big European probe into match-fixing in football, initiated in Germany four months ago. The Turkish detainees include well known players and coaches.
There has previously been suspicion of fixed matches in Turkey, but this has rarely resulted in any arrests since the country has no law against match-fixing. According to the BBC, the German investigation has now led Turkish prosecutors to take action.
The smuggling and organised-crime department of the Turkish police is leading the Turkish investigations and they are looking into some 30 matches.
