Play the Game is disappointed to learn that one of the scheduled speakers in Coventry, Muhammad Dhakaba, has been unable to secure a visa to attend the conference.

Dhakaba, who was to speak on at the Tuesday’s session on corruption in sport, confirmed Monday that he would unable to attend. The news comes despite sustained attempts by Coventry University and Play the Game to contact the relevant authorities.

“Athletes, journalists and sports leaders from developing countries are playing a growing role in shaping the future of sport”, Play the Game Director Jens Sejer Andersen said. “So it is very disappointing that it is proving so difficult to get visas for some of our African delegates”.

Dhakaba, the Editor of UgaSport, had been scheduled to give a presentation on threats and intimidation in football in his native Uganda.
