Sportnetzwerk new partner of Play the Game

The board of Play the Game has approved the new German Sportnetzwerk as an official partner of Play the Game.

Sportnetzwerk was founded by sports editor Jens Weinreich from Berliner Zeitung and a dozen of colleagues in December 2005.

The aim is to involve sports journalists, scientist, students and sport officials in debates on the role of sport in society and to raise the quality of journalism by encouraging the discussion of topics largely unpopular within sport business. The board of Play the Game also decided to join forces with Sportnetzwerk in organising a mini-seminar for journalists who are in Berlin in connection with the Football World Cup. The seminar will be held in the last week of the World Cup from 3-7 July.
