Course on international sport mainly for Nordic journalists

13.10.2006

Play the Game is organising a course on international sport in Switzerland in December. The target group is Nordic journalists but a few places will be available for journalists from other countries in Europe.

Why will a number of prominent volleyball leaders soon form a new world federation in Copenhagen?

Will future doping users succeed in taking their cases to the civil courts?

Why are Jacques Rogge and Sepp Blatter sending angry letters to sports ministers warning them to keep EU out of sports politics – just as UEFA wants closer cooperation with the EU?

Why do the new stricter anti-corruption laws in Switzerland not apply to the international sports federations?

Sign up for the course ”International Sport. At the heart of the power” and get the answers.

The course takes place from 4-7 December in Geneva and Lausanne and is organised in cooperation between Play the Game, The Danish Institute for Sports Studies and Nordic Journalist Centre.

During  the course you can meet

  • Lars-Christer Olsson, CEO of UEFA,
  • Michel Zen-Ruffinen, former Secretary General of FIFA,
  • Matthieu Reeb, Secretary General of the Court of Arbitration for Sport,
  • Anne Schwöbel, head of Transparency International/Switzerland

and many other experts in the field.

The course is mainly for Nordic speaking journalists or related professions.

However, as most of the presentations for obvious reasons will be held in English a small number of European participants from outside the Nordic countries can be accepted. No travel grants and no translation services are offered.

Price 9,200 Danish Kroner including room and full board, but exclusive of travel costs from your home country to Geneva.

Deadline for registration is 23 October. Registration form

If you do not speak a Nordic language, you can get help with registration by sending an e-mail to course leader Jens Sejer Andersen at jens@playthegame.org

At the website of Nordic Journalist Centre you can find more information in Danish about contents and registration.
