In a two-day conference on ‘sport and prison’, experts will discuss the effects of sport in prisons, and present the results of a survey about sport programme management in European prisons.

The main aim of the conference is to provide Council of Europe member states with guidelines and criteria, which will enable them to “evaluate, assess and plan specific (existing or future) “sport in prison” projects.”

The conference will also present best practice examples of ‘sport in prison’ programmes.

The conference will take place at the French National Olympic and Sports Committee in Paris on 16-17 June 2013.

For more information about registration and programme, see: http://www.coe.int/t/DG4/EPAS/default_en.asp

The conference is organised in a cooperation between the Enlarged Partial Agreement of Sport (EPAS), the French National Olympic Committee and the French Ministry of Justice.
