Semenya backer to fight for Indian runner Santhi

There is hope yet for Indian middle-distance runner Santhi Soundarajan, who failed a gender test in 2006 and was subsequently stripped of the silver medal she won at the Asian Games in Doha and barred from racing.
But now Canada-based elite cyclist Kristen Worley, who has been speaking publicly on issues of gender discrimination and treatment of gender variant athletes and who successfully fought for South African athlete Caster Semenya, has taken up her case.
Worley, co-founder Coalition of Athletes for Inclusion in Sports (CAIS), said on email to the Times of India, "I won the case for Caster, and have been in touch with Santhi the last few weeks."
