CV One - backing Play the Game 2009
"Coventry is the 11th biggest city in the United Kingdom and extremely rich in both cultural and sporting tradition.
By supporting Play the Game, we at CV One are aware of the spotlight falling on sport at a time when it’s relevance to the people of our city has never been greater.
On a positive note we have the Olympic Games taking place a mere 90 miles away in less than four years time yet we also are aware how crucial it is to promote sport and its benefits, both physiological and psychological, to all the people of Coventry.
We see Play the Game as a vehicle of getting into the global public domain the qualities and facilities that Coventry has at its disposal.
We are extremely proud that the conference is taking place here and are determined that Play the Game in Coventry will give organisers, delegates and stakeholders alike their most successful ever Play the Game conference."

About CV One
CV One is internationally recognised as a benchmark for combining the twin functions of managing Coventry’s city centre and promoting the City and its surrounding region as an attractive place in which to invest, work, live and to visit.
As a public-private sector company it operates independently and commercially from local government whilst leveraging the enhanced buying power and contacts forged by its official services provision for Coventry City Council.
CV One has over two decades of combined experience; with an annual budget of more than £8 million and operating with around 90 staff from five sites in central Coventry, it is responsible for carrying out a huge number of tasks.
The sales and marketing division provides a comprehensive range of opportunities designed to drive business sales, increase brand penetration and lower business costs including major events sponsorship, new media, design, publishing, advertising, direct mail, accommodation and conference bookings, events management and city centre promotions.
The operational division delivers the spectrum of city centre services including car park management, Evening Ambassadors programme, CCTV, cleansing and Britain in Bloom, of which we won Gold for Large City in 2008.
CV One is recognised by Government Office, Advantage West Midlands and the European Regional Development Fund as a supplier of events, inward investment, property and marketing projects.
Core funding comes from Coventry City Council but the Company is in effect an arms-length organisation with an independent board of directors, drawn from the private sector as well as the local authority.
At the heart of CV One’s core activities lay commercial membership schemes covering city centre businesses, principally retailers and leisure sector operators, and tourism businesses, such as hotels and attractions, from a wide area of Warwickshire as well as from Coventry itself. Apart from the tourism membership scheme, all the other schemes have now been incorporated into the Coventry City Centre BID.
CV One also produces the official visitor website, and visitor literature for the sub-region of Coventry and Warwickshire (www.visitcoventryandwarwickshire.co.uk); and organises The Godiva Festival, Coventry Jazz Festival and The Godiva Awards to name but a few. The organisation also manages Coventry’s city brand “ Coventry Inspires” and supports the City of Coventry Ambassadors Group.
