About
Play the Game 2007 was the fifth conference held by Play the Game.
The conference focused upon five key themes:
-
The autonomy of sport: threat or promise
-
Children in sport: love or labour?
-
Mega-events: Front-runners for sports globalisation?
-
Chasing clients or providers: Anti-doping at a crossroad
-
The digital battle: Sport on demand versus the demands of sport
There was also an open forum, where issues not covered by the above themes, could be discussed and debated.
The main goal of the conference was the creation of coalitions for good governance in sport, to be achieved through the strengthening of existing networks on the forging of new ones, via both formal and informal mechanisms.
