Alberto Carrio Sampedro

Alberto Carrio Sampedro holds a Phd in Law (University of Oviedo), MA in Law of Sports and MA in European Advanced Studies. Dr. Carrio is currently lecturer of philosophy of law in Law Department at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona).

Previously he was predoctoral fellow of the Spanish Parliament and the Spanish Agency of Cooperation (Spanish Foreign Office). He has been visiting Researcher at: Max Plank Institute of Hamburg; Seminar für Rechphilosphie (Hamburg Universität) Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (London); Institut Suisse de Droit Comparé (Lausanne); and at the Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics (Oxford University).

Dr. Carrio has published several academic papers in Legal Theory, Constitutional Law, Rule of Law, Rules of Sports, Equality in Sports, and the impact of Cognitive Human Enhancement in the concept of Justice. He is the author of a book in which analyzes the concept of legal validity in current constitutional democracies (Spanish Parliament Publishing). He is currently Associate Director of Fair Play. Journal of Philosophy, Ethics and Sports Law.
