Steve Maxwell is Co-Editor of The Outer Line – “The External Perspective on Pro Cycling” – which follows the economics, ethics and governance aspects of pro cycling.  He is an avid cyclist, and in 2013, he became just the tenth American to successfully complete the legendary cycling climb Mont Ventoux, in southern France, from all four directions in one day. He has also been a contributing writer for VeloNews – the primary bicycle racing magazine in the U.S.

In his day job, Mr. Maxwell is Managing Director of TechKNOWLEDGEy Strategic Group, a strategic planning and transactional advisory firm focused on the water and environmental services industry, based in Boulder, Colorado.  He is a contributing editor to numerous industry publications, and has written hundreds of articles of water and environmental protection issues.  He serves on various corporate and association boards, and has advised dozens of companies on strategic, transactional and organizational management challenges.  He is also the author of The Future of Water (2011) – a broad review of future water challenges. Mr. Maxwell holds an undergraduate degree from Earlham College, and Masters Degrees in both Public Policy and in Geology from Harvard University.
