Professor Hai Ren was awarded his PhD from the University of Alberta in 1988.

He is a Professor at the Beijing University of Physical Education and Executive Director of the Olympic Research Centre in the Chinese Institute of Sport Science.

Other roles include, chief expert of the China Institute of Sport Science, Council member of the China Sports Science Society, Vice Chairman of Chinese Sports Social Sciences and member of Executive Board of the International Society of Comparative Physical Education and Sport.

Prof. Ren’s main research interests are in the area of sport and comparative physical education with emphasis on cross cultural studies in sport and Olympic studies. He is a regular invitee to national and international conferences and has an extensive publication record in his areas of research interest.
