1. QUALIFICATIONS

Graduated from the University of Maryland. College park, USA 1993 in Business Management, minor in Physical Education.

Holds a Business Teachers Diploma from the Valley Secretarial and Teachers College, Nairobi, Kenya, and a member of the Society of Business Teachers.


2. WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Head of Department-United Nations Institute for Namibia 1979-89, Lusaka, Zambia.
  • Ministry of Youth and Sport - 1994-2000, Chief Control Office Administration and Planning for the entire Ministry. This included Budgeting and Budget Control, Human Resource Development etc.
  • Ministry of Women Affairs and Child Welfare 2000 - to date; in the same capacity as in Youth and Sport also assisting in the creation of the structures of this new Ministry, as it is a newly established Ministry.
3. SPORT HISTORY
  • Netball National Coach
  • Vice President of the Namibia National Netball Association.
  • Namibia National Sport Commissioner
  • President of the Southern African Confederation of Netball Associations (COSANA)
  • Secretary General and founder member of the African Women in Sport Association (AWISA).
  • Secretary General and founder member o the Namibian Women in Sport Association (NAWISA)
  • National Team Manager for the contingent to the Commonwealth Games Malaysia, 1995.
  • Chef de Mission XXVII Sydney 2000, Olympic Games.

    In Search of Equity, Equality and Justice for women in sport, I have attended and presented papers to the First and Second World Conferences in Brighton, UK, 1994, and Windhoek, Namibia 1998, respectively, and the First and Second IOC World Conference on Women and Sport, held in Laussane, Switzerland, 1996, and Paris, France, 2000, respectively.

    I have conducted various seminars in Namibia and Africa on status of Women in Sport.
