A young, dynamic sports administrator with extensive experience in working with developing countries to deliver progressive and effective sports programs aimed at contributing to the development of communities. Extensive experience in evaluating the sporting landscape of various countries and devising programs and initiatives suited to address the needs and concerns of individual countries. An understanding of the needs of elite athletes in the preparation of effective scholarship programs. A comprehensive awareness of the international sporting environment including the sporting systems of numerous countries as well as intricate knowledge of, and interest in, the Olympic movement. Vast experience in major event management - having worked for and advised the organising committees of a multitude of events including the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, 2001 South Pacific Mini Games, 2002 Micronesian Games and an array of national multi-sport events throughout Oceania.

East Timor Confederation of Sport (Secondment)
Special envoy to supervise International Olympic Committee initiatives in East Timor

Profile:
As part of the preparations for East Timors Independence on 20 May 2002, the International Olympic Committee has undertaken a number of projects in East Timor aimed at assisting the sports component of the Independence Day Celebrations as well as the establishment of the East Timor National Olympic Committee. At the request of the IOC, I was responsible for the supervision of these projects.

Key Functions:
Coordinate the sports component of the Independence Day Celebrations. Known as the East Timor Independence Festival of Sport, the sports component of the Independence Day Celebrations was an international multi-sport event encompassing 17 different sports across the 13 districts of East Timor. The festival included the Inaugural East Timor National Games, East Timor Traditional Sports Carnival, East Timor Independence Sports Festival and an International Football (soccer) tournament. I was responsible for the organisation of this festival including coordinating the sports component with the rest of the Independence Day Celebrations being hosted by the United Nations.

Supervise the rehabilitation of sporting facilities being funded by the IOC. The IOC have identified key sporting facilities requiring urgent attention and I am responsible for ensuring that the work on these facilities is carried out to a satisfactory level.

Working on the establishment of the National Sporting Organisations of East Timor with a view to obtaining affiliation with their respective International Federations.

Establishing the East Timor National Olympic Committee. Ensuring that East Timor satisfy all the requirements for IOC recognition and affiliation.

Profile:
The Australia-South Pacific 2006 (ASP-2006) Sports Program is a sports development program delivered throughout 16 countries of Oceania. With the express aim of developing communities through sport, the program seeks to improve the capacity of administrators, teachers, coaches, athletes and sports medicine practitioners throughout Oceania. The ASP-2006 Program incorporates the Oceania Olympic Training Centre - a scholarship program based at the Australian Institute of Sport, for elite athletes, coaches and sports medicine practitioners.

Key Functions:
Coordinating all four initiatives of the Australia-South Pacific 2006 (ASP-2006) program - a $3million sports development program delivered in 16 countries across the South Pacific.
Assist the developing nations of Oceania in the delivery of effective sports systems.

Liaising with the participating National Olympic Committees and Government Departments to develop tailored Strategic Plans for the program.

Consulting with experts from International Federations, National Sporting Organisations and the Australian Institute of Sport to develop effective scholarship programs
Exploring and implementing new initiatives to promote the development of communities through sport throughout Oceania.

Developing programs to promote capacity building skills amongst coaches and administrators of sports throughout Oceania
Crdinating the logistics of scholarships for recipients including travel arrangements, visas and accommodation.

Preparing reports for organisations including the ASC, International Olympic Committee, Olympic Solidarity and Oceania National Olympic Committees.
Liaising with international bodies to ensure that the ASP-2006 program continues to address issues pertinent to developing countries, particularly in Oceania.

Preparing an operational and strategic plan for the ASC on the new International Training Centre (ITC).

Marketing the ITC program internationally to attract clients.

Regional Coordinator, NOC Services - Africa

Profile:
The NOC Services department of SOCOG is the principle point of contact between the Organising Committee and the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) of the participating nations. Responsible for managing all logistical requirements of 11African National Olympic Committees and coordinating their participation in the Olympic Games in conjunction with the various functional areas of SOCOG.

Key Functions:
Manager of a Pre- Olympic Games Training Camp for over 500 international participants.

Coordinating the participation of 11 NOCs in a major international event.

Advising NOCs on unfamiliar business issues such as the GST and legal requirements.

Monitoring and assisting the communication of all functional areas of SOCOG with the NOCs.

Resolving conflicts that arise between SOCOG and the NOCs.

Conducting the Delegation Registration Meeting between the NOCs and key functional
areas of SOCOG - finalising all arrangements pertinent to the NOCs participation in the Olympic Games.

Directly responsible for integrating and managing over 50 NOC Assistant Volunteers and Attachs working with 11 NOCs throughout the Olympic Games period.

Communicating with the International Olympic Committee on issues relevant to the participation of NOCs in the Olympic Games.

Working with the NOCs on a daily basis prior to and throughout the Olympic Games to ensure all needs are being met and that the NOC is obtaining maximum benefit from the services provided by SOCOG.

Administrative Officer, Olympic Training Centre Programs

Profile:
The Olympic Training Centre Programs offers scholarships to elite athletes, coaches and sports medicine practitioners from the participating National Olympic Committees of Africa and Oceania. The recipients work in Australia for a period of no more than twelve weeks with their Australian counterparts. The program also offers training grants to elite Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders.

Key Functions:
Assisting the Director in the coordination of scholarships for over seventy participants per year.

Working with the elite coaching programs of the Australian Institute of Sport and the National Sporting Organisations of Australia to formulate effective scholarship programs for the participants.

Coordinating the logistics of the scholarships for the recipients including travel arrangements, visas and accommodation.

Reporting to and communicating with the participating National Olympic Committees, International Sporting Organisations, Diplomats, the Oceania National Olympic Committees (ONOC), the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) and the International Olympic Committee.

Ensuring that while on scholarship, the participants are satisfied that they are receiving maximum benefit from their scholarship and resolving any problems that arise.

Norths Rugby Club is one of the four founding clubs of the Australian Capital Territory Rugby Union and fields teams in the ACTRU Senior and Junior Competitions.
