Jørn Møller

B. 1943. , Ph.D.Since 1980 Jørn Møller has been a research employee at "Research Institute for Sport, Culture and Civil Society". His research emphasis is on traditional games in Europe, and since 1985 he has been Head of "The Workshop of Sports History".
Graduation:
1974: Cand.Phil. Nordic Filology, University of Copenhagen.
1993: Ph.D. Cultural Studies, University of Odense.
1985-: Board-member of The Danish Association for Sports History - Body & Culture (DIHF: Dansk Idrætshistorisk Forening).
1997-2000: Member of The Danish Sports Research Council. (Idrættens Forskningsråd)
Since 1985 JM has been occupied with the study if traditional games in Europe within their cultural context. The main themes have been cultural diversity and identity. He is in charge of two major projects within the field: a) "Europlay" which is a comparative study of regions in Europe where traditional games are practiced, collected, studied or revitalized. b) "The Workshop of Sports History" which is a living museum conducting studies, collection and revitalization of traditional games mainly within the Danish area.
His main work is a four-volume national edition of "Traditional games in Denmark"
He is also responsible for the erection of a huge playground for traditional games and sports.
