Professional experience:

1987-present: Senior Lecturer, Kenyatta University, department of physical education.
1990-1997: Was appointed the commissioner for sports to co-ordinate and promote Sports throughout the country as the Head of the department of Sports.
1988-1990: Chairman of the Physical education and Games at Kenyatta University.
1985-1988: Part time lecturer in tests and measurement and Statistics in physical education at Kenyatta University.
1981-1982: Practicum instructor in Physical exercise for Alcoholic patients at Serenity Lane County Rehabilitation, Eugene, Oregon.
1978-1979: Part time lecturer in Human Anatomy and Exercise Physiology in P.E. Department, Kenyatta University.

1992-1995 Appointed by the international Special Olympics board as a member of the Special Olympics international Sports Rules Committee, African Representative. The Committee Reviewed and Published Rules for Special Olympics Summer and Winter Olympics.
1998 Invited to Life University, Marietta, Georgia, United States of America, as an Adjunct Professor to Lecture on High Altitude Training.


National Appointments:

1990-1997 Appointed Commissioner for Sports, Changed with the Responsibilities of Co-ordination and Promotion of all Sports in the Country on Behalf of the Kenya Government as the Head of the Department of Sports.
1989 Appointed Chairman of the Organising Committee for the First Inter-University Games held at Kenyatta University.
1989 Elected Public Relations officer for the Kenya Amateur Athletics Association.
1988 Appointed Chairmann, Physical Education Department.

1995 Order of the Grand Warrior of Kenya, National Honors in recognition of contribution to Sports and Sports Administration.
1990 Indoor World Record in one mile, Masters Division at Meadowlands, New Jersey, USA.
1985 Honorary Life Member of the Kenya Amateur Athletics Association.

1975 I was ranked number One in the World in 800 meters by the Sports Writers and the Track and Field Magazine.

1973 I was voted the Most Outstanding Athlete at the Drake Relays, USA.
1972 Olympic Bronze Medallist at the Munich Olympics, Germany.
