Bonita Mersiades

Bonita Mersiades has worked at senior executive levels within federal government and the not-for-profit sector in Australia. Her experience in football has given her a insight into both FIFA and football at all levels in Australia.
As well as growing up in the game, and being involved at the grassroots level as a volunteer for many years, Mersiades has worked for a former national soccer league club, for a state federation, as team manager for the national men’s team the ‘Socceroos’ and as head of corporate and public affairs with Football Federation Australia (FFA) until her departure in January 2010.
She is a FIFA reform activist and was co-founder of the former advocacy group, #NewFIFANow. She is a writer and publisher, and founder of Australia’s first Football Writers’ Festival.
